Username
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You have several options freely available to you:
- If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
- If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Let me reassure you that my writing here means I don't think your username is grossly, blatantly, or obviously inappropriate; such names get reported straight to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention or blocked on sight. This is more a case where opinions might differ, and it would be good to reach some consensus — either here or at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names. So I look forward to a friendly discussion, and to enjoying your continued participation on Wikipedia. Thank you. Cheers, Lights 21:40, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
RFC discussion of your username (Zzzzzzzzzz)
[edit]Hello, Zzzzzzzzzz, and thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! Wikipedia has a policy on what usernames editors can use. Unfortunately, concerns have been raised that your username may be incompatible with that policy. You can contribute to the discussion about it here. Alternatively, if you agree that your username may be problematic and are willing to change it, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under a new name. Simply request a new name here following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account. Thank you. -- Cheers, Lights 17:40, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I would not want to change my username, but if i am forced to do so, it could be for example Z10. I chose this username because all other nicknames which i normally use were taken. --Zzzzzzzzzz 20:24, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I strongly encourage you to voice your opinion at the page. The conversation is rapidly degenerating. i said 20:51, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't know about your strict username policy when i chose this username. But don't block this account, i will request new username if needed. Btw how do you define "lengthy sequence of characters"? 10+ characters? You should discuss about the username policy and change it little bit. I don't get it why usernames with "lenghty sequence of characters" are so confusing. When replying to comments etc. you can always copy-paste username if it is so hard to count characters. --Zzzzzzzzzz 22:12, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I am not voicing an opinion about your username. However, people at WP:RFCN are. Again, I encourage you to dicuss your position there. And they will not block the account, instead they will ask that you get a rename, which you have said you will if you need to. i said 22:18, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

- On a side note, the policy is there because your name could very difficult to distinguish between User:Zzzzzzzzzzz and User:Zzzzzzzzz (if they existed that is). That sort of thing. Perhapses as an alternate user name: "User:Z times 10" or "Zx10" etc. Just a thought. ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 22:28, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- Further, if you changed your user name, your sig can still be Zzzzzzzzzz. And of course your contribution history would stay with your new account. Flyguy649 talk contribs 04:14, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's starting to look like the community's consensus is going to be to ask you to change your name. You could preempt the discussion by sending in a name-change request now. You can do so over at Wikipedia:Changing username. ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 16:31, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- I might have to disagree, J.smith. There are good arguments on both sides. Zzzzzzzzzz, you requested a rename, but both Rdsmith4 and Secretlondon disagree that you need to change it. Might I suggest reopening the discussion (which I closed) to get more input? I also get the impression that you feel pressured to change your name. If in fact consensus is for you not to have to change your name, I'd hate for you to do it preemtively and not want to. i said 02:59, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'll change my username so we don't need to anymore waste valuable time on this case. I bet you all and me have better things to do here than arguing about the username which i chose randomly. I am here mostly adding interwikis and doing minor edits. Btw i also chose my username on Finnish Wikipedia (i have there 15000+ contribs) randomly but my username there doesn't have lenghty sequences of characters, only very short random sequence of characters. --Zzzzzzzzzz 03:55, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (flim)" listed at Redirects for discussion
[edit]An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (flim). Since you had some involvement with the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (flim) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 18:19, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
